Yes — the core app is completely free with no account required. Free users get MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core settings, free reference charts, articles, pipe measurements, and the quote generator. Pro ($2.99/mo) unlocks all calculators and removes ads. Elite ($5.99/mo) adds the AI assistant, cert tracker, and community posting.
Pro ($2.99/month) — No ads, all calculators (bend planner, pipe offset, weight, table legs, cost estimator, heat input), all reference charts (aluminum filler, stainless, gas tips, tap drill), weld symbol reference, metal ID guide, cert prep guide & quiz, machine logbook, and advanced quote generator with PDF export.

Elite ($5.99/month) — Everything in Pro, plus AI Weld Assistant, Show Your Work community posting, Certification Tracker with expiration alerts, advanced project calculators (Infinity Cube, Trefoil Knot, Geometric Wall Art), and priority support.
Open Pocket Welder Helper → Settings → tap Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you used when you subscribed. If you still have issues, email us at pocketwelderhelper@gmail.com.
Yes — legacy "Remove Ads" purchases are automatically recognized and you'll receive Pro tier access free of charge. Tap Restore Purchases in Settings if it isn't showing correctly.
Yes — all weld settings, reference charts, calculators, weld symbol reference, metal ID guide, and cert prep work fully offline. The community feed, articles, and AI Weld Assistant require an internet connection.
Go to Settings → tap Restore purchases. If that doesn't work, email us at pocketwelderhelper@gmail.com with your receipt or order number and we'll sort it out quickly.
iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Pocket Welder Helper → Cancel Subscription.

Android: Google Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Pocket Welder Helper → Cancel.

You keep Pro/Elite access until the end of your current paid period.
Try these steps in order:

1. Force close the app and reopen it
2. Check for app updates in the App Store or Google Play
3. Restart your device
4. Uninstall and reinstall the app (your data will be restored if you're signed in)

Managing Your Subscription

Subscriptions are managed through the App Store or Google Play — not directly through Pocket Welder Helper.

To cancel or manage your subscription on iPhone or iPad:

Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad

Tap your Apple ID / name at the top

Tap Cancel Subscription to cancel, or change your plan

To cancel or manage your subscription on Android:

Account & Data

Sign in with Google or Apple to back up your Machine Logbook, Saved Quotes, and Certifications across devices.

To back up your data: Open Pocket Welder Helper → Settings → Account → Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple. Your data syncs automatically once signed in.

Deleting Your Account

Open Pocket Welder Helper → Settings → Account → scroll down → tap Delete account. You'll be asked to confirm twice before your account and all data is permanently deleted. This cannot be undone.

Important: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. Please cancel through the App Store or Google Play first.

Troubleshooting

App crashing or not opening
Force close → check for updates in your app store → restart your device → reinstall if needed.
Pro features not showing after purchase
Go to Settings → tap Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed into the same account used to purchase. Email us if it still doesn't work.
Notifications not arriving
Check that notifications are enabled for Pocket Welder Helper in your device Settings → Notifications.
Community photos not loading
The community feed requires an internet connection. Check your connection and try pulling down to refresh.
AI Weld Assistant not responding
The AI assistant requires an active internet connection and an Elite subscription. Check your connection and confirm your subscription is active in Settings.
